France extends lockdown for two more weeks

France has extended its anti-virus confinement measures for another two weeks until 15th April.

France has extended its anti-virus confinement measures for another two weeks until 15th April.

It had been scheduled to end next Tuesday, but  French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, warned the public that they were "only at the beginning of the epidemic wave".

Philippe said it was expected that the number of cases would rise in the Paris region and northern France, after heavily hitting eastern France.

France has reported nearly 2,000 deaths from COVID-19, the fifth-highest numbers of any country worldwide.
