A market in Dornburg has started a drive-thru system for toilet paper, a good that is in high demand since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Germany.

The market manager, Andreas Hofmann, said he does not usually sell toilet paper but got into the business due to the increased demand.

Due to current restrictions on how many clients are allowed in a shop at any given time, Hofmann came up with the idea of selling the product outside his shop.

As of Wednesday, Germany has recorded more than 71,000 cases of COVID-19 and 775 deaths.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and could lead to death
