German man with 453 piercings shows off 'Devil Horns' in Brussels

World’s “most pierced man” and Guinness World Record holder showed off his ‘devil horns’ at the Brussels Tattoo Convention in Belgium. German resident Rolf Buchholz, 60, with subdermal implants and over 450 piercings participated in the annual convention. 

According to the Guinness World Records, Buchholz had 453 piercings, with 158 around his lips, as of 5 August 2010. He has 16 in his right ear, 15 in his left ear, 25 in his eyebrows, eight in his nose, 94 in and around his lips, two in his tongue, eight in the rest of his body, three in his nipples, four in his navel and 278 in the genital area. The telecommunications worker, with a whopping 278 piercings in the genital area alone, claimed those piercings didn’t affect his sex life. Buchholz said that the piercings were no hindrance in his sex life and had it been the case, he would have got rid of them long ago.

Denied entry at Dubai airport

Though Buchholz has 94 metal rings and studs around his mouth, the only problem he faces is with airport security. In 2014, the 60-year-old tattoo fanatic had claimed that he was denied entry into Dubai,  when he arrived there to appear for a gig in a nightclub, because of his “unusual” looks. He said that the airport authorities escorted him back to the aeroplane because they were afraid he practised ‘black magic’.

Hunt for jewellery

Talking to a German daily, Buchholz said that he doesn’t know the real reason behind his love for piercings. Fascinated with body accessories, he travels to different countries to hunt for body jewellery. Employed at Deutsche Telekom, Buchholz’s colleagues have seen his transformation from the beginning when he had not a single piercing on his body. He said that all of his colleagues have become used to it.
