A 17-year-old Algerian young man became the hero of the day in Turkey after catching a two-year-old Syrian toddler who had accidentally fallen from the second floor of an apartment building.

A 17-year-old teenager became the hero in Turkey after being able to catch a two-year-old toddler who had accidentally fallen from the second floor of an apartment building. The incident took place in Istanbul's Fatih district, which is home to an Arab community.

Doha Mauhammed, the daughter of Syrian couple Leyla Abdullah and Yusuf Muhammed, approached the open window of their second story flat while the mother was cooking in the kitchen. Feuzi Zabaat, an Algerian national who was working in a shop on the same street saw the toddler who was about to fall and stood underneath the window.

 In a hair-raising video, the teenager can be seen holding the toddler just before she was about to hit the ground, thus saving her from a seriously injured. The video of the incident was captured by a security camera of a shop that is present on the adjacent side of the road.

Reportedly, after hearing the shocking news the toddler's father also arrived in the scene, and gave a modest reward of 200 Turkish Liras and also promised to make a religious sacrifice the next day to celebrate the rescue of his daughter
