Iran warned Monday it is planning a "final, more effective" step to reduce its commitment to the nuclear deal signed with international powers in 2015.

The country's foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi issued the warning after Britain, France and Germany triggered a dispute mechanism over Iran's repeated breaches of the agreement.

"(The Europeans must decide) if they want to be independent or they want to listen to a bully like America and see the results," Mousavi said.

The deal has been on the verge of collapse since US President Donald Trump withdrew from the agreement last year.
