Jordan marks independence under shadow of virus

Despite the partial curfew imposed to stem the spread of COVID-19, Jordanians marked on Monday 74 years since the country won independence.

Despite the partial curfew imposed to stem the spread of COVID-19, Jordanians marked on Monday 74 years since the country won independence.

Security and army forces organized a parade in the streets of the capital Amman, and jets performed an airshow.

And there were fireworks over King Hussein park and in different areas around the kingdom.

Jordan's King Abdullah II delivered a speech to the nation to mark the occasion.
