The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti said on Wednesday the nation's President Hashim Thaci signed a secret deal with NATO and has called for him to be ousted.

Kurti accused Thaci of violating the constitution in 2013 when, as prime minister, he signed an agreement with then-NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen which limited the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).

Kurti said the deal stated the KSF would not undertake a mission in in Kosovo's northern Serb-dominated region "without prior agreement of NATO's Kosovo Force mission (KFOR)".

He considered this to be a "flagrant violation" of the nation's constitution to limit the rights of its security forces.

Serbia does not recognise Kosovo's 2008 declaration of independence and their relations are tense.
