Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov met on Tuesday his South Sudanese counterpart Awut Deng Acuil in Moscow.

Acuil said that South Sudan is looking forward to Russia's closer involvement in the country's economy, saying that "Russia has the technical know-how and it has expertise to be able to come in and invest in South Sudan."

Lavrov shared his thoughts on Tuesday on the much-anticipated Middle East peace plan US President Donald Trump is set to unveil to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later in the day.

He stressed on the importance of considering both Israeli and Palestinian sides' interests, ''including and even first of all, the Palestinian side, because as far as I understand, we're talking about creating a Palestinian state, which the international community has agreed upon," he said.
