South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Monday said he welcomed the approach of the Biden administration on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Speaking at a news conference marking his fourth year in office, Moon said the approach, which would be solidified at a US-South Korea Summit in May, would "restore the dialogue between two Koreas and between the North and US."
North Korea hasn't made an official response to the Biden administration's North Korea policy review, but its Foreign Ministry last week warned Washington of "a very grave situation" while criticizing Biden for calling its nuclear program a serious security threat.
In January, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the fate of ties between North Korea and the United States would depend on whether Washington would abandon its hostile policy on Pyongyang.
North Korea has long wanted the United States to lift sanctions on it and provide a security guarantee.
