Passengers help crew to restrain drunk men creating nuisance aboard

A flight that had taken off from Moscow and was on its way to Phuket saw three strange incidents of passengers creating a nuisance on board. The first episode saw a drunk man attempt to open the door of the flight while it was 33,000 feet above the ground. The passengers who were visibly frightened by the drunk man's actions intervened and helped the cabin crew keep him under control. The second episode had two drunk men getting into a quarrel and in the third one, a man went to the toilet and smoked. The Nordwind flight is a strictly a no-smoking flight.

Drunk man tried to open flight door

A video of the first instance surfaced online which was recorded by a Russian reporter Elena Demidova, who was on the flight. She filmed the video on her phone and also described the incidents occurring in the flight. She said there was an announcement regarding leftover plastic food wrap that belonged to one of the passengers, and then a drunk man tried to open the emergency door while the flight was at a higher altitude. She then said a sign appeared to fasten the seat belts and after some time the captain announced that a drunk passenger has been creating trouble. She added that a doctor tried to calm that passenger down and various other tough measures were taken as well. She then confirmed that plastic food wrap was used to tie him up, seven people were holding him but none of that worked. It is when the passengers had to step in to help the crew members after which the flight had to make an emergency landing in Uzbekistan diverting from its route. The man was handed over to the police officials for his offences, according to media reports.

Two more incidents occurred

The passengers could not get any relief after the plane flew towards Thailand again after a delay for four hours. In another case, two drunk men had a row and the crew had to get in between to control both of them. After some time, a third passenger was caught smoking in the toilet of the Boeing 777. In the recorded footage by the Demidova, she narrates while recording "And this man was smoking in the plane’s toilet. The stewardesses are sorting it out right now". After the plane landed in Phuket after a long eventful journey, these three men were handed over to the police of Thailand for their actions.
