Plane with Chinese medical equipment arrives in Lisbon

A plane carrying medical equipment from China arrived in Lisbon on Monday carrying masks and diagnostcs tests for the new coronavirus.

A plane carrying medical equipment from China arrived in Lisbon on Monday carrying masks and diagnostcs tests for the new coronavirus.

The shipment included one million masks and 200-thousand virus tests.

The plane coming from Shanghai also carried other protection equipment for health professionals.

As of Monday, Portugal recorded 6,408 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and could lead to death.
