There couldn’t have been a better start to the Premier League. In a thrilling opening match of the season, Arsenal came from behind twice to beat Leicester City 4-3 early on Saturday at the Emirates stadium in London.

New Signing Alexandre Lacazette opened his Premier League account in less than two minutes as he headed the ball home as Emirates erupted. Three minutes later Shinji Okazaki equalised to put the foxes back in the game. Five minutes into the Premier League and the atmosphere was electric.

Jamie Vardy then took advantage of an Arsenal defence that suddenly went to sleep as he tapped the ball from close range. Arsenal couldn’t afford to go into the break trailing as the constant pressure paid off, two minutes into the first half added time as Danny Welbeck scored to even the game.

Ten minutes into the second half, It was Jamie Vardy again who scored his second of the night putting nervous jitters around the Emirates. With no Alexis Sanchez, Arsene Wenger needed something brilliant out of his bag as he introduced Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud in what proved to be the turning point of the match.

The persistent attack finally paid off as Ramsey received a cross from Xhaka as he took a touch before hitting a low shot to level the game. With five minutes left on the clock, Arsenal was doing everything right except finding the back of the net.

But it was meant to be Giroud moment to bask in glory as he headed a ball which hit the underside of the crossbar to put Arsenal ahead, as the Emirates crowd erupted into wild celebrations.

Defending champions Chelsea will face Burnley at home on Saturday as they look to kick start their title defence while Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will travel to premier league newcomers Brighton Hove Albion.
