Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday said the international community should carry out "an active search of the solution" in the conflict between Israel and militants in Gaza.

Speaking at a meeting with world ambassadors to Russia, Putin said any solution should be "based on relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council".

The conflict in Gaza has raged for two weeks, with at least 212 Palestinians killed in Israeli air strikes, including 61 children and 36 women, with more than 1,400 people wounded, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, which does not break the numbers down into fighters and civilians.

Ten people in Israel, including a 5-year-old boy and a soldier, have been killed in the ongoing rocket attacks launched from civilian areas in Gaza toward civilian areas in Israel.

Putin also said that Russia had created a fourth vaccine against coronavirus, which would be "launched soon", and claimed that the country's vaccination plan had "gathered pace".

He also commented also on the bilateral relations between Russia and Poland, saying that they could be "more meaningful and productive."

"Accumulated complicated questions in bilateral relations can be unconditionally solved, acting through pragmatism, and considering interests of each other. We stand for such a constructive approach," he said.
