A 10-year-old Russian skateboarder, who lost his legs in 2011, has gone viral on social media after legendary skater Tony Hawk and a popular Russian YouTuber congratulated him on social media. Maxim Abramov suffered a fourth-degree burn which led to the doctors amputating his legs when he was just six-month-old. Less than a year later, a family from St. Petersburg adopted him. He learnt to skateboard and used only his hands for propulsion.

'New favourite skater'

Abramov is coached by Pavel Mushkin who keeps sharing the videos on his Instagram page. Ace Skater Tony Hawk shared one of Abramov’s video on his Instagram page and called him his “new favourite skater”. Famous Russian YouTuber and journalist Yury Dud also shared the youngster’s video performing tricks and gave a background to Abramov’s life. “Maxim @maxlullove is 10 years old. When he was a year old, he lived in the Murmansk region. He was living in a terrible situation where he had a mattress and a bed,” he wrote.

Living with a new family

“Maxim received a fourth-degree burn - to save his life, doctors had to meditate both legs. Now Maxim lives in St. Petersburg in a complete and happy family (Dad, mom, sister, dog),” wrote Dud.

Dud informed that Abramov’s main passion is catering and added, “Just look how cool he is.” Since Hawk reposted the video of Abramov on his Instagram profile, Abramov’s Instagram followers count has shot up and has currently around 37,000 followers.

Instagram users have been showing immense support in the comment section. “Big thank you to all my new friends for such nice wishes and comments. I’ll try to delight you with cool videos and photos,” wrote Abramov in one of his posts. In his latest Instagram post, Abramov shared a picture of him with his sister Natasha where they seem to be painting a wall.
