Russian and Ethiopian FMs hold talks in Moscow

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with his Ethiopian counterpart at the Foreign Ministry in Moscow on Wednesday.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with his Ethiopian counterpart at the Foreign Ministry in Moscow on Wednesday.

He told Demeke Mekonnen that Russia was interested in "continuing our mutually beneficial cooperation and coordination in international organisations" such as the UN.

Lavrov added that it was important to hear Mekonnen's views on "the situation on the African continent and on the activity of the African Union".

Mekonnen said it was a "great pleasure and honour" to be in Russia, and thanked Lavrov for making time to meet him.
