Russian Media: Plane With 71 Passengers Onboard Crashes Near Moscow

A Russian domestic passenger plane crashed on the outskirts of the Russian capital on Sunday after taking off from Moscow's Domodedovo airport, Russian media reported. Media reports further suggest that the crash took place outside Argunovo village in Moscow region.

According to reports, the aircraft took off at 11.22am (local time) and was tracked descending at 3300 ft per minute, five minutes later before the signal was lost.

The Emergencies Ministry said it has sent crews to the reported crash site. The reports said the plane was an An-148, a regional jet belonging to Saratov Airlines, that had taken off from Domodedovo Airport with 71 people aboard.

Russian news agencies reported 65 passengers and 6 crew members. Tass news agency reports there are no survivors of the crash and further adds that Russian authorities confirm fragments of crashed airliner have been found.
