Iraqi authorities have closed the main entrances to Baghdad's densely populated Sadr City in a move to enforce the curfew imposed in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Brigadier Ahmed Abdul Rasoul, of the Iraqi Army's Ninth Division, said three regiments had been deployed in Sadr City to "prevent gatherings, the movement of cars and to prevent the spread of the disease."
Footage showed the army had set up roadblocks and checkpoints in the district of the Iraqi capital.
As of Saturday Iraq had reported 506 cases of the new virus.
