Video uploaded on social media Saturday showed Myanmar's security forces beating up a man who was on the ground offering no resistance.
The incident happened after security forces broke up a protest in Myeik and chased down some of those who were taking part in it, according to the person who filmed the scene and requested anonymity.
One soldier could be seen beating the man with a cane, then kicked him in the head and smashed his rifle butt into his ribs.
Myanmar security forces violently suppressed anti-coup protests on Saturday, using live ammunition on crowds, as demonstrators showed defiance to the country's military on the day of the annual armed forces parade.
