Seoul acting mayor: will continue in spirit of Park

Seoul City Hall said it will continue the city administration without interruption based on the philosophy of the late mayor Park Won-soon.

In a briefing on Friday morning, acting Seoul Mayor Seo Jung-hyup made the remark, expressing deep condolence and sadness over the death of Park.

Park, who was 64, was found dead earlier in the day.

Police said Park’s body was found near a restaurant nestled in wooded hills stretching across northern Seoul after a more than seven-hour search involving hundreds of police officers, firefighters, drones and dogs.

They said there were no signs of foul play, but gave no further details on the cause of death.
