As efforts to control the coronavirus outbreak intensify, South Korean students are the latest to be affected.

With the government asking people to avoid large crowds, some of the annual exams have been postponed, a huge blow for the young people who have spent at least a year preparing for them.

It's feared that the testing sites, where hundreds of students gather to sit the exams, would be a breeding ground for infection.

In accordance with the government advisory for prevention of virus infection, many test prep centers and study halls are closed for a week or two.

In the Noryangjin district in Seoul, a neighbourhood filled with exam prep centres, many students wait in line to buy masks, saying they want their fellow students to feel comfortable.

But with demand outstripping supply, many are choosing to study at home instead.

South Korea confirmed they had 1,595 infected people as of Thursday morning, including 24 that fully recovered and 13 that died.
