As of Saturday, Spain has reported over 5,000 deaths from the new coronavirus and confirmed over 65,700 cases of which 51,000 are active.

Over 9,000 infected have recovered so far.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and may lead to death.
