Thinking he landed a steal deal, a man paid $9,100 approximately, Rs 6.3 lakhs for a house in Tamarac, Florida. However, in a hilarious turn of events, he was later told that he had accidentally only bought only a strip of grass in front of the villa. And to add to his woes, the officials also informed him that he is now stuck with the patch of grass as the state laws do not allow the refund he is seeking. As per reports, the man thought that he was purchasing an up-town house during the Broward online auction but instead ended up- receiving a 1-foot long strip of land on the Northwest 100th way in Spring Lake.

Despite the deal, the state officials have informed that there is nothing that can be done according to state laws. Calling it an act of 'deception', the man stated that there was no demarcation that shows that just a line is going through the duplex, especially when there are tools to show it in order to make sure that the buyer is not confused. 

Speaking to a leading media publication in the area, he said that the property appraiser images were linked to the auction site that showed that the villa was on bid. Although, the appraiser's site and information on the tax site state that the building has no value and the land only takes up 100 square feet.

After the incident, officials in the area have started warning auction participants to be vary of bidding on properties online before going and checking the place up.
