Even in the era of technology, commercial aviation is no joke. Add snow and sub-zero temperature to the mix and you have a whole new set of problems. Some passengers on board United Airlines Flight 179 faced this exact same situation when a mechanical error made their lives miserable for the next sixteen hours.

An American professional wrestler Retesh Bhalla, who goes by the stage name Sonjoy Dutt, started live tweeting the harrowing ordeal of what transpired when he along with several others got stranded on Flight 179. After the plane had to land at the Goose Bay airport due to a medical emergency, the aircraft failed to take off after a door could not be completely closed.

As time passed, the situation got more and more dire for the passengers who were stuck on the ill-fated aircraft as they could neither deboard nor take off.

However, thanks to the timely intervention from the Goose Bay airport authorities, the situation became a bit more stable.

However, the wrestler found a silver lining even in the midst of this horrible incident for he made a new friend.

Finally, the rescue plane came onto the scene and there seemed hope for the stranded passengers.

At long last, when the door could not be fixed, the passengers were shifted to the rescue plane.
