Thai King fires 4 more palace officials for 'evil conduct', 'adultery'

In two announcements by the Royal Palace on October 29, Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn fired four more officials for misconduct and being lax on their duty

Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn fired four more officials on October 29 for misconduct and being lax on their duty, days after he stripped his Royal Consort of all her titles and military ranks on accusations of "misbehavior and disloyalty" alongside firing six palace officials. The four officials were stripped of all their ranks and titles by the Thai King.

A serious act of "evil misconduct" and "adultery"

In one of the announcements by the Royal Palace, two of the officials stationed in the Royal Palace, also the bedroom guards, were fired for a serious act of evil misconduct and for being involved in "adultery", which is considered a direct violation of the code of conduct set for the palace officials.

In another announcement, two officers in the Thai military were fired for being negligent while being on duty as the Palace guards and not behaving in a manner that was expected out of officers with their ranks and titles.

Earlier dismissed 6 officials

The announcement comes days after Vajiralongkorn firing six of his palace staff members on October 23. Before this, he had stripped off his Royal Consort, Sineenat Wongvajirabhakdi of all her titles and military ranks after accusing her of being ambitious. One of the fired staff members held the rank of a police lieutenant general with the Royal Household Bureau and was a representative of the palace in public events.

The lieutenant general was accused of actions that were deemed "evil" alongside misconduct and using his post for personal agendas. The other five who were dismissed were with the palace guard units.

"Her actions are considered as disloyal, ungrateful"

The firing of the 6 of the palace staff members followed the Royal Consort, Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi was stripped of all her titles. An official statement released by the Thai Royal Household was taken by the king because of her ambition in wanting to have equal status as the Queen.

 

It was also stated that "Her actions are considered as disloyal, ungrateful, and ungracious of His Majesty's kindness," the notice said. "They caused division among the royal servants and led to misunderstanding among the public. These amount to acts of sabotages against the country and the monarchy."
