Talking to local media in south-western Indonesia's West Java Province, Saputra said that he thought about naming their son inspired by technology when his wife was seven months pregnant. He also revealed that he had considered names such as "Windows, iPhone, Microsoft and iOS" among others, as well as the more traditional Albar Dirgantara Putra, as per Indonesian news reports.

Revealing the reason of 'Google' not having a surname, Saputra has reportedly said that a surname would dilute "the essence" of the name adding that his wife and his family was not initially on board with the baby's name.
