Reportedly, the Turkish president threw a letter he received from US president, Donald Trump in the dustbin as the letter chastised him for his Syria offensive

Reportedly, Turkey's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, threw a letter he received by US president, Donald Trump, in the dustbin. The letter asked the Turkish president to not act so tough or in a silly manner alongside warning him that he would be viewed as a bad man if he did not stop his military action in Syria.

"Let's work out a good deal"

The letter was sent to Erdogan after the American soldiers were pulled out of Syria. Trump's letter started off by asking the Turkish President to table a good deal. Trump also talked about how Erdogan should not want to be responsible for killing so many people in Syria. The American president also stated that how he had worked towards solving his Turkish counterpart's problems. Donald Trump ended the letter by stating that Erdogan would be considered a good man if he solves issues in a humane way. 

America's "tough" stance against Turkey

In the events that preceded this, Donald Trump, stated that the sanctions he had imposed against Turkey was very extreme and tough. A group of diplomats headed by American VP, Mike Pence, prepared to go to the capital city of Turkey, Ankara, in order to pressurise Turkey to put a stop to their military plan of action in the northern part of Syria.

Trump's much-criticised move

In a public address, Trump stated that he wanted to bring back American troops deployed in Syria as he stated that America should not be interfering with Turkey's operation in Syria as it was "not" their border and they shouldn't be losing their people over an issue that does not even concern them.

A resolution was tabled in the congress that was in complete opposition to Trump's decision of pulling out the troops from Syria. In relation to this, House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi and Senator, Chuck Schumer, stated that President Trump's chaotic decision to withdraw the troops needs to be handled by a strong and a capable leader from the Congress.

The United States of America, imposed sanctions on Turkey as it was seeking an end to the ongoing military conflict in Syria, blaming its NATO ally for putting citizens in danger and giving way for the terrorists to enter terror hit areas.
