UAE: Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan re-elected to be President

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been re-elected as the President of United Arab Emirates by the Supreme Council of the Union on November 6. This is also the fourth time he has been elected for a term of five years to head the kingdom in accordance with the constitution. UAE's Supreme Council of the Union expressed its 'deep confidence' in the 'wise leadership' of President Sheikh Khalifa and also wished him luck for the next tenure. Sheikh Khalifa was first elected as the President on November 3, 2004, after his father's demise.

Led the kingdom to 'achievement stage'

The UAE President accompanied the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the early foundation stages of the renaissance in UAE during the 70s and 70s before taking over the kingdom's leadership. According to a Dubai news agency the Supreme Council of the Union commended the re-elected President as he as led the country towards the 'achievement stage' and also contributed to the empowerment of the Emirati citizens and prosperity of the country both, locally and globally. In addendum to being the President of the country, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the Ruler of Abu Dabi and the Chairman of Abu Dabi Investment Authority.

The new law in UAE

A new educational requirement in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reportedly led to the loss of jobs of hundreds of Indian nurses, while many more have been demoted. Bachelor’s degree in nursing has been made a minimum educational qualification for the Indian nurses in the UAE. According to a Dubai-based English daily, more than 200 nurses have already lost their jobs owing to such changes and many fear the same. Nurses with diploma certificates now have to go through a Post Basic BSc Nursing Programme from universities in the UAE. The universities should be accredited by the Ministry of Education and nurses should go through it by the year 2020.
