UN worried with human rights violations under Taliban

A spokesperson for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, on Tuesday expressed concern about "human rights violations" following the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan.

Shabia Mantoo expressed particular concern about the future of women and girls in Afghanistan, as well as "those perceived to have a current or past association with the Afghan government, international organizations or with international military forces".
