'We sail for home', tweets Greta Thunberg, as she sets sail on 'La Vagabonde'

"We sail for home", Greta Thunberg tweets to her followers as she sets sail from North America to Europe in order to attend UN Climate Change Conference.

Swedish teen climate change activist Greta Thunberg tweeted that she was sailing for home. After ending her trip in North America, she is now making her way towards Europe. Carrying a large backpack and wearing a heavy knit cap, the Swedish teen and her father Svante boarded the boat called "La Vagabonde", the 14-meter catamaran which belongs to an Australian couple will be her home for the next two to three weeks as she makes her way home.

Who is she?

The 16-year old climate activist became famous after she lead "school strikes for climate" which ended after a hectic 11-week North America journey and made headlines all over the world as she crisscrossed the United States and Canada.
Greta shared a picture of her sailboat in the open sea with the accompanying tweet, "We sail for home".

New Adventures await

Greta Thunberg is bound for Europe and new adventures where she will no doubt continue her fight against climate change.
Her first stop in her trans-Atlantic voyage will be the UN Climate Change Conference in Madrid. While thanking her supporters in North America for their incredible hospitality and support she also tweeted a link for her supporters to follow her trip at sailing lavagabonde.com.

Her trip will take her all the way from Hampton, in the US state of Virginia all the way tp Portugal which will be more than 5,500 kilometres of travelling for her and her father.
During her trip to North America, Greta met several world leaders at the United Nations, including former US President Barack Obama. She toured around the US and Canada in a Tesla electric car lent to her by actor and ex-governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
