World's oldest man Swami Sivananda stuns the Abu Dhabi Airport staff

Air terminal staff at Abu Dhabi were left stunned after they came across an Indian traveler whose passport ID mirrored his age as 123 years as per reports.

Air terminal staff at Abu Dhabi was left stunned after it came across an Indian traveler Swami Sivananda, whose passport ID stated his age as 123 years. As per reports, Swami Sivananda's identification says that he was born on August 8, 1896, in Behala, India. If the information can be accepted to be valid, Swami Sivananda will hold the record for the world's oldest man alive. According to the reports, Sivananda was traveling from London back to Kolkata when he stopped over in Abu Dhabi to change the connecting flight.

Swami Sivananda says he leads a normal life

As per the reports, Sivananda looks a lot younger than his recorded age. However, he asserts that a trained life, yoga and abstinence is the thing that helped him. He said he leads a very simple and disciplined life. He added that he eats only simple boiled food cooked without oil and spices. He said he avoids having milk and fruits because he thinks these are 'fancy foods'. He said during his childhood, he slept many days with an empty stomach. He said discipline is an important aspect of life. One can conquer anything with discipline in food habits, exercise and sexual desires. He sleeps on a mat on the floor with a wooden slab for a pillow.

Attempts to get his age affirmed by the Guinness Book

He also said earlier people were happy with few things and nowadays, they have become unhappy, unhealthy and dishonest which pains him a lot. He said he just wants people to be happy, healthy and peaceful. He has been attempting to have his age affirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records for a long time, however, it was difficult to confirm as the main records originated from a temple register. The oldest living individual in Australia is believed to be Melbourne's Nessie Kluckhenn, who turned 110 on April 1.
