A small but vociferous group of Chileans marched to Santiago's presidential palace, La Moneda, to deliver a blue envelope to President Sebastian Pinera for his dishonesty.

A blue envelope is what is traditionally given to employees who are being cut from their jobs in Chile.

The President of Chile's Humanist Party, Catalina Valenzuela, signed the envelope prior to delivering it personally to the front office inside the presidential palace building.

Earlier in the week leaked documents pertaining to the Pandora Papers revealed that Piñera, one of Chile's wealthiest men, used offshore companies in the British Virgin Islands for dealings involving the Dominga mining project, which his family co-owned in part with a friend.

The final payment on the mine's sale in 2011 hinged on the government declining to declare its location in north-central Chile a protected natural reserve, according to the report.

Chilean President Sebastián Piñera insisted Monday he was innocent of any wrongdoing, after he was named in the Pandora Papers investigation that reveal how the rich and powerful have been hiding their investments and other assets.

"He promised not to rob us, not to rob the Chileans and we have seen how much during his first term and now his second terms he has filled his pocket with everyone's money," said Barbara Bustos, a member of the Humanist Party protesting Pinera.
