Over two thousand bitcoin industry experts participated Tuesday in the Bitcoin Week conference in El Salvador to discuss the potential, projections and challenges of the cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin was made legal tender in El Salvador in September.

The Bitcoin Week in El Salvador, held since 2013, will host talks until November 19 and is organised by private actors interested in the expansion of the cryptocurrency.

Finance Minister Maria Hayen said inviting "innovation and talent" from abroad was an important part of boosting the use of bitcoin.

A month after the virtual currency was introduced, and despite the government saying that approximately two million dollars are sent daily by migrants using crypto currencies, experts indicate that bitcoin operations and transactions are still minimal.

The bitcoin can be used in any transaction and businesses must accept with it, except those that lack the technology to do so.
