An Australian journalist said she was grabbed by a man while she was reporting live on the George Floyd London protests on Wednesday.

Channel 9 Europe Correspondent Sophie Walsh said the man "grabbed" her in the middle of her live cross with the news reader in Adelaide.

"It's ok, he's not armed, a man just came up and grabbed me though," a shaken Walsh said during the live cross.

Earlier this week, an Australian cameraman was struck by American police on live television while covering protests in Washington, D.C, local media reported.

The incident occurred on air as Channel 7 reporter Amelia Brace was covering protests near the White House during the network's Sunrise morning program.

The officers have been placed on administrative leave while their conduct is investigated.

Thousands of people protested in London against police violence and racial injustice following the killing of Floyd in Minneapolis, which has set off days of unrest in the United States.

The demonstration began in Hyde Park, with protesters chanting “Black Lives Matter,” before many of them later marched through the streets, blocking traffic.

Australia’s prime minister has urged Australians involved in Floyd-related anti-racism protests around the world to be “extremely cautious.”
