The United Kingdom Prime Minister, Boris Johnson was handed a cup of coffee by an aide which was immediately seen snatched away by another aide who can be heard saying “no disposable cups”. In the 15-second clip, PM Johnson can be seen baffled by the prompt actions as they all keep walking. This happened at the same time when the UK government announced that they will ensure all disposable cups will be recyclable by the year 2023. As the talks about disposable cup and PM's coffee increased online, Boris Johnson later posted an image with a glass cup, saying he finally got his drink.

Hilarious comments

The clip which has been viewed by millions was also accompanied by hilarious comments by the netizens. Some of them even compared it to Season 17 of Thick of It which is a satirical series based on modern British government. One of the internet users found it humorous that the PM's aide removed the cup from his hands so quickly as if it was “going to self-destruct in five seconds”. While a few internet users, mocked the UK leader of not realizing his mistake, others applauded him for taking it in “good humour”. However, there were many people who felt it was not such a  huge deal and should have not made it to the headlines.

Hertha Ayrton Fund

The £1 billion innovation fund is kept aside from the aid budget and is named after Hertha Ayrton. Ayrton was one of the first physicists and engineers of the Victorian era. The main goal of this funding is to obtain “the latest cutting-edge tech” to contribute in areas such as sustainable electricity supplies for developing countries. Moreover, it will seek an improved battery technology along with methods for heavily polluting by steel and cement industries in order to reduce emissions.
