A group of climate change activists disrupted rail services in London on October 17. It sparked widespread violence between angry commuters and a protestor who had climbed onto the roof of a London Underground train during the rush hour.
The rebel group named Extinction Rebellion is in their second week of civil disobedience that has targeted the government establishments, a local airport and financial institutions to highlight the challenges faced by climate change. The London police, mayor and the local commuters scolded the group for its method of protest arguing that public transport was one of the greenest methods of travel.

Several activists have been arrested by the police and officials are working to quickly resume the services. The rebel group rose to prominence in April when it sparked travel chaos in London for 11 days. Extinction Rebellion wants to promote a rebellion against the political, economic and social stature of the modern world to avoid the worst-case scenarios stated by the researchers studying the climate. British Transport Police said that they have reacted to the situation immediately on the rail network at Shadwell, Stratford and Canning Town, near to London’s Canary Wharf financial district.

The police in London has ordered a ban on all the climate-related protests
The camera footage showed the protestors unfurling an Extinction Rebellion protest group over a stationary London Underground train at Canning Town before one was pelted with food and physically dragged off by angry commuters. The activists launched civil disobedience on October 7 to highlight the rapid loss of plant and animal species. Sadiq Khan, mayor of London, condemned the protests targeting the London Underground and Docklands Light Railway (DLR).In an attempt to stop the disruption, the police in London has ordered a ban on all the climate-related protests on Monday. They said they have arrested 1642 people on Wednesday who defied the police ban and targetted the Treasury buildings, companies such as Google and other financial institutions in the city.
