UK PM: Too early to consider easing restrictions

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has warned it is "still early days" to start talking about easing or even lifting the coronavirus restrictions. In a video posted on Twitter on Friday, he said his government aimed to set out a "roadmap" for easing restrictions on 22 February "as far as we're able to".

But he warned that rates of infection were still very high and urged everyone to "stay at home, protest the NHS and save lives". The prime minister also welcomed the progress of the vaccination programme, saying it was progressing at a "huge rate of knots".
