UK workers urged not to 'flood back' to public transport

The U.K. government on Wednesday confirmed that 229,705 people have tested positive for the new coronavirus in the country, with 33,186 deaths - an increase of 3,242 infections and 494 deaths since Tuesday.

The U.K. government on Wednesday confirmed that 229,705 people have tested positive for the new coronavirus in the country, with 33,186 deaths - an increase of 3,242 infections and 494 deaths since Tuesday.

The figures were announced during the government's daily briefing by Housing, Communities and Local Government Minister Robert Jenrick, who also set out changes in restrictions to home renting, buying and construction put in place to tackle the spread of the new virus.
