When a new bundle of joy is born in any family, the parents want to spend every moment of it with the child. And it’s hard when there’s no option but to leave the kid for work commitments. That’s what happened with Prince Harry recently as he had to leave his newborn baby to launch the countdown to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.

The Invictus Games is a competition set up by Prince Harry, that gives an opportunity for wounded, sick or injured ex-armed service personnel to showcase their talent in the field of sports.

Attending the event, Prince Harry said he was delighted to kick off the countdown to take place at the Haque in the Netherlands. He expressed his excitement at the thousands of sick, wounded injured hopeful competitors training hard and putting in the hours for their country.

He hoped such an event would contribute massively in changing the mindsets of people in terms of disability.

“Invictus games would change lives, capture hearts and inspire a generation, the Invictus generation,” he said.

Believing in the transformative power of sports in recovering physically and psychologically, Prince Harry hoped they’d put in an effort that makes viewers not want to miss a single moment.

The new father also revealed that this time 19 nations are going to be participating in the games. He thanked the Dutch people at their support for the previous four editions of the tournament.

“We chose you for a reason and not because I like the colour orange,” Prince Harry quipped.

The best moment, however, was reserved for the end when the new father was presented with a tiny T-shirt bearing the name of Invictus Games.  One would hope the dress would fit Archie Harrison Windsor-Mountbatten when the tournament is held next year.
