Deputy Dads: 17 Sheriffs in the same department welcome babies in 2019

Law enforcement officers of the Sheriff department of Missouri have welcomed babies this year along with their wives to capture their pictures, as per reports.

17 law enforcement officers of the Sheriff department of Missouri have welcomed babies this year. 14 of the 17 law enforcement officers along with their wives and babies gathered on November 4, at Sandy Creek Covered Bridge in Jefferson County to capture their pictures, according to the reports. The babies were outfitted in matching white t-shirts with deputy badges printed on them along with brown pants and accessories. The two newly born babies who were present were just 10 days old.
Sheriff Dave Marshak said it is very important that they support their families and feel really good about it. Jefferson County is Missouri's sixth-most populous country with 219,000 residents residing. It lies south of St. Louis County.

Law passed to provide resources for raises for the sheriff's office

A bill was passed the previous year where the increase in property tax provided resources for raises for the sheriff's office. Earlier the starting salary for a deputy was $37,902 and now it has increased to $50,300. Sgt. Matt Moore whose little baby Luca born this year said that it gives a little more space to start a family if we have got more income. He added that the expenditure on kids is not cheaper these days. Before the vote, Marshak had warned of a possible exit of law enforcement officers before the measure was passed. Currently, he said that the new officers are being recruited from neighbouring communities. Marshak is dealing with a lot of deputies applying for leaves to spend time with their newborn babies.

He further added that he loves to spend time with his six-month-old son and his wife. He said that spending time with family makes his bad days good. Recently, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is announcing a new and exciting contest for kids. It will be contested to test the kid's artwork and creativity. The Sheriff's Academy is the only law enforcement academy in the state where the training curriculum is specially developed for the unique duties and responsibilities of deputy sheriffs. This allows for the teaching of departmental specific topics.
