Officials in California reported on Sunday 30 people at a skilled nursing facility have tested positive for the coronavirus.

This comes a day after Riverside County ordered all residents to cover their faces when leaving home due to the virus.

California has recorded more than 15,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 virus infections and at least 320 deaths, according to the latest data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The coronavirus mainly is spread though coughs and sneezes. For most people, it causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough, that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
