61 US firms to join PM Modi at round table meetings in Houston

A total number of 61 US firms will join PM Modi at the round table meetings in Houston, United States, a day before mega event "Howdy Modi" at NRG Stadium.

A total number of 61 US firms will join Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the round table meeting in Houston on September 21, sources said on September 19. The meeting will precede the mega event, "Howdy, Modi", which will be the largest Indian-American event, where Prime Minister Modi is all set to address 50,000 Indian-Americans at the NRG Stadium in Houston on September 22. The event is more special as US President Donald Trump will also share the stage with PM Modi. 'Howdy, Modi' will be the third meeting between the two leaders in three months, after the G-20 summit in Japan in June and the G-7 summit in France last month.

Firms to join Modi

The Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and top executives of ExxonMobil, Perot Group and Hillwood, Baker Hughes and of 13 other top US energy companies would join Modi at the roundtable meeting in Houston. The others among the list of companies include Air Products, Baker Hughes, BP PLC, Cheniere Energy, Dominion Energy, Emerson Electric Company, ExxonMobil, Perot Group and Hillwood, IHS Markit, Lyondellbasell Industries, Mcdermott, Schlumberger, Tellurian Inc., Total S.A., Vinmar International, and Westlake Chemicals will be part of the meeting.

PM Modi will also meet the CEOs and top executives of Bank of America, Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Microsoft, and of 41 other US companies at the roundtable meeting in New York on September 25, according to reports. Other than this, 3M Company, AECOM, The AES Corporation, Amway Corp, American Tower Corporation, Bank of America, The Blackstone Group, Coca Cola, Deloitte, IBM, Cisco Systems Inc, JPMorgan & Chase, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, Lennar Corp, Lynx, Lockheed Martin, Marriott International, MasterCard, Financial Services, and Microsoft will also be taking part in New York roundtable meeting.

Other attendees include top functionaries of Mondelez Int. Food & beverages, Qualcomm Technology, Salesforce, TPI Composites, Inc., USIBC, USISPF Advocacy, Visa Inc. Financial Services, Walmart Retail, Amazon Retail, BlackRock, Ford Automobile, GE Aviation, GE Company, Google, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Pharma, PepsiCo, Warburg Pincus, Franklin Templeton, Harman, Marsh & McLennan, Metlife, Westinghouse Electric Corporation Energy, SAP, Cigna, Travelers, and Prudential Financial will also be taking part in the roundtable meeting to be organised in New York.

Highlights of 'Howdy, Modi'

Houston, which has one of the largest concentration of the Indian-American community in the US, is the energy capital of the world. PM Modi so is scheduled to meet the top executives at Houston before 'Howdy, Modi'. Facebook co-founder Zuckerberg earlier highlighted 'Digital India' in his statement on Howdy Modi event. Similarly, Satya Nadela spoke about the blooming enterpreunerships in India noting the business potential in the country. Other than this, Democratic Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has also hailed India ahead of Modi's event. Prime Minister Modi will arrive in the US on September 21 and hold 20 bilaterals with world leaders during the six-day visit, including a high-level meeting with US President Donald Trump.
