Dallas tornado causes major damage, panic at Memphis airport
The passengers at the Memphis Airport were directed to take shelter in restrooms amid tornado and forced to go through screenings which led a chaotic scenario

A tornado with damaging winds and large hail caused severe damage to homes and business in Dallas, Texas. The Memphis International Airport felt the punch on Monday as the storm shifted eastward. The passengers at the airport as well as in the planes were reportedly directed to take shelter in terminal restrooms. Many travellers shared videos and photos of themselves as they forced to go back through screenings and rejoin longer security screening lines at the airport which had created a chaotic scene.

An airport spokesman reportedly claimed that there was only some minor damage from broken glass and no one was injured. The airport authorities also tweeted, “While minor damage was sustained, the worst of the weather has now passed and normal operations have resumed at MEM.”

Casualties and rescue missions
As per the reports, two people died when trees fell on their houses. Two boys have also died possibly of carbon monoxide poisoning in a travel trailer in Oklahoma. However, a medical examiner has not yet determined the exact cause of death. Three people have been admitted to the hospital for some minor injuries. Dallas witnessed these severe storms tearing apart a lot of structures in the area. There was confirmation by radar that the tornado had hit the land near Love Field Airport after moving towards the northeast direction of the city. Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri witnessed massive damages while the Tornado moved northeast.
The Dallas Police Department and Dallas Fire-Rescue have been working towards examining the damages done to the buildings and other structures due to the tornado. Officer has reportedly been going to each door to keep a check on the safety of the residents. The Fire-Rescue Department tweeted a picture of one of their stations which got badly damaged. They confirmed that nobody was injured in the fire station damage.
