Fifth night of protest near Colorado state capitol

Hundreds of protesters gathered near the Colorado Capitol late Monday for a fifth straight night of demonstrations.

Previous protests were marred by violence, vandalism and hundreds of arrests.

In Monday night's protest, a group of people including Denver's police chief marched in front of the Capitol building, chanting and banging on drums before streaming through the streets of downtown Denver.

The protests were sparked by the death in Minneapolis last week of George Floyd, a handcuffed black man who pleaded for air as a white police officer pressed a knee on his neck.
