All visitors to Hawaii are now being required to complete a 14-day quarantine in what the governor has called an "extreme action" aimed at stopping the spread of coronavirus in the state.

The mandate will effectively bring tourism in the islands to a standstill potentially crippling the state's economy.

The new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms for most people, but for some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness or death.
