Philadelphia was witness to a real-life spiderman on Thursday as a man went all superhero and climbed all the way down a 19-floor building.

The viral video is making rounds on social media and in it, the man can be seen climbing down the building with his bare hands in a bid to escape a raging fire that had engulfed some of the floors. Left with little option, the man attempted his escape without any protective gear, and even more astonishingly, he confidently pulls off the escape and seems to remain calm during his descent from the building.

Here's the video of an unreal escape:

According to the reports, the fire broke out in the high-rise at around 9.30 pm. The footage was captured by a press helicopter who saw the man climbing down the 19-floor building. Onlookers, police and fire-brigade staff on ground were shocked to see the man descending down one floor at a time without support. The man appeared to have figured out his footholds and made the escape carefully, but it was a long and precipitous drop below him and he had many floors to cover. Eventually, however, he makes it all the way down and is attended by the firemen and paramedics.

Thankfully, the fire was doused and no injuries were reported, leaving the netizens to freely marvel at the man's escape:

While the Philadelphia gentleman had little choice in his escape, earlier this month, on July 8, another man scaled the tallest building in the European Union, 'The Shard' unaided. The climber decided to make it to the top without the apparent assistance, safety harness or ropes.
