White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said conversations about a White House task force aimed at restarting the economy are in the very early stages, and there is "nothing formal" yet going on to create one.

There were some reports Thursday that President Donald Trump was preparing to announce a second coronavirus task force, this one focused entirely on the nation's economic crisis.

But Kudlow told reporters that task force is currently only in the discussion phase.

"Presently, there's no formal structure," Kudlow said. "The president's seeking advice from everybody, inside and outside the government."

Asked if the president will create a formal structure at some point, Kudlow declined to answer, saying only: "That's a 'what-if'...I don't have time for 'what ifs,' I'm sorry."

Kudlow was also pressed on whether the task force, if formed, would be bipartisan in its membership. He insisted the president "has always been bipartisan."
