The Republican congressional member who attempted to force a roll call vote on the $2.2 trillion Coronavirus rescue package said there was a cover up by House leaders who didn't want a recorded vote.
Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., a libertarian who opposed the bill and often bucks the GOP leadership, tried to force a roll call vote.

But passage of the bill came after Democratic and Republican leaders banded together and outmaneuvered a maverick GOP lawmaker

As Rep. Massie was departing after the vote he said House leaders on both sides were trying to protect their members "from political ramifications."

"The truth if you're willing to report it is they don't want a recorded vote. They don't want to be on record of making the biggest mistake in history, said Rep. Massie."

Most people who contract the new coronavirus have mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, or death.
