Many New York City landmarks are all but empty of visitors in sharp contrast to several weeks ago when the city was bustling with people day and night.

Many New York City landmarks are all but empty of visitors in sharp contrast to several weeks ago when the city was bustling with people day and night.

On a usual day tourist have to wait in line to take photos with the Charging Bull sculpture in lower Manhattan but now the bull stands mostly by itself.

Pedestrians on the Brooklyn Bridge are usually jostling for space from bike riders but not now.

Essential workers still take the subway but nearly everyone is wearing a protective face mask.

New Yorkers continue to die at an unnerving pace from COVID-19 even as the number of patients in hospitals has leveled off.

New York recorded 752 deaths Tuesday, for a total of more than 11,000 in just over a month.
