New York City hospitals are storing the bodies of virus victims in street trailers, as the biggest city in the US is being hit hard by the coronavirus.

New York City hospitals are storing the bodies of virus victims in street trailers, as the biggest city in the US is being hit hard by the coronavirus.

Medical personnel wore personal protective equipment to remove a body from the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in the Brooklyn borough of New York, as hospitals fill up with COVID-19 patients.

Bodies are being loaded onto refrigerated morgue trucks by gurney and forklift outside overwhelmed hospitals, in full view of passing motorists.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
