Obama: GOP embraces 'false narrative' of election

From his home in Washington, former President Barack Obama talked with members of The Economic Club of Chicago In anticipation of the groundbreaking of the Obama Presidential Center on the city's South Side.

Obama shared his perspective on the challenges facing Chicago and the country, and his frustrations with what he called partisan politics.

"It's not just about policy, it's also about how you feel," Obama said.

The former president added: "The hard right has tapped into, you know, this sense of identity that's based on nativism or anger or resentment or, you know, racial status, and combating that is just as important as delivering on economic policy."
